The third Cultural Game Jam in Aarhus will take place between the 3rd and 7th of March! Around 45 students from Aarhus University’s Digital Design and Information Studies programme will come together for an intense, creative, and empowering Cultural Game Jam.
During the event, participants will design games that explore cultural heritage through the ARoS exhibition on Installation Art – all under the theme: “That’s Not Fair”. Hosted at Filmby Aarhus, participants will visit the game design studios Chop Chop Games and Funday Games, and will get insights from industry professionals. They will use p5play, a game engine designed to make learning through play more accessible. As part of the Jam Process, participants will have a workshop with Stanisław Krawczyk from the Scholarly Communication Research Group. Krawczyk has researched (among others) the representation of Polish history in games, as well as the cultural function of games in contemporary culture. Finally, as part of the Expert Council, Funday Games will provide valuable feedback to participants to help refine the projects.
We wish all participants a successful and enriching Game Jam!
