We are excited to announce that EPIC-WE’s Óbidos hub will hold their fourth and final Cultural Game Jam from May 13th to 16th!
This jam’s theme is “Heritage Remixed – Rediscover the Past, Reimagine the Future”. Participants will have the opportunity to get to know Óbidos’ rich history, mythology and local legends, using it as a springboard to explore themes like cultural heritage, and imagine new futures and solutions to current challenges faced by European citizens.
Students from the Lusófona University and the Josefa d’Óbidos Secondary School will gather in Óbidos’ Praça da Criatividade for three days filled with workshops, activities, and, of course, game-making!
Students already experienced a first immersion into the theme of the 4th Cultural Game Jam during the pre-jam activities that were organised on April 28th. They came together for a “culture storming” exercise, a guided tour past important landmarks, and a visit to the Óbidos Interior Design Centre. In short, the pre-jam activities have introduced our participants to the town’s rich history, and its many myths and legends, and now they are ready to remix, rediscover and reimagine!
We cannot wait to share the results of the Game Jam!
